Whether handing out informational pamphlets or presenting The Metro Atlanta Breast Cancer Survivors Mass Choir, GCHE is working to educate the community in a way that makes a difference.
How can we apply new approaches to education and prevention, diagnostic, and treatment to improve health outcomes for the underserved? Most of the disparities that we have noted publicly can be overcome through effective outreach to the community we serve. Many studies have demonstrated that equal treatment yields equal outcomes; race is not a factor. We're convinced that if the people we serve understand what we do and why we do it, they will be more open to the medical system, and better equipped to manage positive health issues- for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Over the past year, the center has provided both administrative and financial support for these activities, which have become a hallmark of the GCHE:
| = | A multimedia educational program |

| = | The Metro Atlanta Breast Cancer Survivors Mass Choir |
| = | The continuation of the Patient Navigation program in the Avon Breast Center |
| = | Continued presence on the Board for Breast Health Connection of Georgia, Breast Friends, Women's Health Leadership Institute of Georgia, and the Comprehensive Cancer Control Leadership Initiative. |
