Walter Curran, MD Executive Director, Emory Winship Cancer Institute Assoc. Vice President, Cancer, Woodruff Health Sciences Center Chair of Radiation Oncology Chief Medical Officer, Emory Winship Cancer Institute
Thank you for taking time to visit Emory University's Winship Cancer Institute website. We hope we are able to provide you with useful information, as well as some direction in your search regarding cancer information or cancer treatment resources.
The Winship Cancer Institute is dedicated to the integration of innovative clinical and basic science research with outstanding patient care for the prevention, treatment and control of cancer. We bring people together. Researchers, physicians, epidemiologists, nurses, engineers, and social workers come to work each day in order to take one step closer to eliminating cancer. It is a team approach, reflecting our commitment to an interdisciplinary and collaborative search for answers to why we get cancer, how we can prevent cancer, and how we can cure cancer. There is no place in Georgia that takes a more agressive approach to finding these answers.
Our focus is demonstrated in our growth -- scientists, physicians, and health care professionals from around the world continue to join our teams in radiation oncology, surgical oncology, hematology and medical oncology. Emory University's vast resources in nursing education, public health, and biomedical engineering to name just a few are all brought to bear in this vitally important mission.
We are all working toward the same goal -- to eliminate the burden of cancer for so many whose lives are touched by this difficult disease. Again, thank you for visiting our website and until we find the answers, we will keep asking the questions.
